The Care Communities Team Training - June 27th

bookmark articleprint articleemail article

Do you feel called to fulfill Christ's mission to help those in our community most in need of assistance. Do your spiritual gifts include Healing, Helping, Mercy, Pastoral Care, or Service? Do you have an hour a week to spare? If so, this may be just the ministry opportunity for you.

A Care Team Training is coming up:
Wednesday, June 27th
First Church Building 5-136
7:00 - 8:30 pm

Our congregation is in the process of forming a Care Communities Care Team to provide assistance to individuals with serious illnesses, including cancer and AIDS. The Care Communities trains and sponsors Care Teams at many local congregations and organizations. Each Care Team consists of 5-8 persons, who are assigned to help a single care partner with things such as housework, errands, transportation or just companionship. There is a one-time three-hour training program, and after that, the commitment is one hour per week.

It is impossible to describe the impact you can make in someone's life through this program, and it is equally impossible to describe the change it can make in yours. But, if you'd like to get a sense of the tremendous spiritual impact of this ministry, you can contact Tommy Prud'homme at (512) 826-6064, or Kirsten Prud'homme at (512) 826-6064. For information about the program, contact http://www.interfaithcarealliance.org or phone Roger Temme at (512) 459-5883.
