Christmas Eve Service for Children

bookmark articleprint articleemail article

The 4:00 P.M. Christmas Eve service is designed for families with young children. This service will tell the Christmas story in a way young children can relate to and enjoy.

Each child is invited to come costumed as one of three characters – an angel, a shepherd or an animal.

At different times during the service each group will be asked to come forward for a few minutes much like they do for a Sunday children’s time. These do not need to be elaborate costumes. A halo for an angel would be great or a shepherd’s headpiece or a hood or a headband with animals ears will also be very good. Consider something simple that will help each child feel as though they look like the character they are portraying.

The Family Christmas Eve Service at 4:00 P.M. is a perfect service for children and parents to serve as greeters or ushers together. If this is something that your family would like to participate in please contact Judy Pearson in the church office. 255-3336 or judy@fumc-rr.org
